The much anticipated S Shankar directorial 2.0 has surpassed Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan’s opening day collections at the Box Office.
The much anticipated S Shankar directorial 2.0 has surpassed Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan‘s opening day collections at the Box Office. The Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer multilingual film had raised expectations with their very first trailer.
According to Firstpost, the sci-fi action film has minted Rs 73.5 cr in a single day, with Rs 21 cr in North India (Hindi version) , Rs 20 cr in Tamil Nadu, Rs 19 cr in Telugu States Rs 5.5 cr in Kerala, and Rs 8 cr in Karnataka.
Despite being a non-holiday release, the film intrigued the cine-goers enough to give it a huge start.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Non-holiday release… Non-festival period… Yet, #2Point0 takes a SUPER START… Keeping in mind the fact that it’s a dubbed film + advance bookings opened very late, the biz is STRONG… Thu ₹ 20.25 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.”

Speaking of the response 2.0 has got, another analyst Sumit Kadel wrote, “#2point0 Hindi audience response is mixed. Saturday & Sunday Business is very crucial, if it performs well then it could go past ₹ 150 cr nett on its lifetime or else ₹110-120 cr LT biz on the cards.”

The film has Akshay Kumar playing an ornithologist who believes birds and animals are being affected by mobile phone radiations.
2.0, which released on 29 November, also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles.
