It may have taken four games for Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo to score his maiden goal for Italian champions Juventus, but that did not stop former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker from equalling a 60-year old record with the Serie A giants.

Ronaldo went scoreless against Chievo, Lazio and Parma – the first three opponents he faced at the start of the season. CR7 scored his debut goal for Juventus on 16 September against Sassuolo. Ever since, goals have flowed in for five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

So far, Ronaldo has scored seven goals in 10 appearances with Juventus. In the process, the Portugal star equalled John Charles’ 60-year-old record.

Argentina footballer Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez, along with Italian star Filippo Inzaghi, have scored six goals in the same period. The likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet had scored five goals in their first 10 league appearances.

Welshman Charles is the only Juventus footballer who managed seven goals in the first 10 league fixtures for the Bianconeri. He achieved the feat in the 1957-58 campaign.

Charles had scored 28 goals in his debut season. Ronaldo, Real Madrid’s all-time highest goalscorer, will fancy passing that mark.

However, despite his explosive start in Serie A, Ronaldo is at the second spot in the scoring chart of Italian football. He is just two goals behind Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek.

Cristiano Ronaldo has won 15 trophies with the La Liga giants and scored 450 goals in 438 appearances for Real Madrid before moving to Italy this summer.
