Two militants were killed on Thursday in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.
The security forces acted on a specific tip about the presence of militants and laid a cordon around Athoora village. When challenged, the hidden militants fired at the security forces, triggering a gunfight.
The affiliation of the militants is yet to be ascertained.

“Two militants were killed in the encounter. The identity and affiliation of the slain militants are being ascertained,” a police officer said.
