A missing paraglider from Singapore was on Monday found dead in Dhauladhar mountain range in Bir Billing under Baijnath sub-division of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
Police said the paraglider, identified as Kok Choonk Na, went missing after taking off from Bir Billing area on Monday and he had reportedly crash landed in Big Face area on Utrala hills in Baijnath.
After taking off, the paraglider reportedly couldn’t control the flight and crash landed on the hills.
The 53-year-old paraglider, who was a former commando in Singapore Army, was found by a rescue team on Sunday which was on its way to rescue a Spanish paraglider who was stuck in Dhauladhar mountain range.
Kok Choonk Na had registered as a free flyer for the Paragliding Pre World Cup and is the fourth paraglider who had to crash land owing to strong wings.
Earlier, two paragliders from Russia and Latvia had suffered injuries in crash landings in Barot area of Mandi district and were rescued by locals. Both are admitted in a hospital where their condition is said to be stable.
Another paraglider from Spain is still stuck between Thamsar Pass and Bara Bhangal since Sunday and efforts are being made to rescue him.
Identified as Jos Lewis, the paraglider had suffered injuries on the leg and is stranded on the hill where ration and other necessary supplies were air-dropped on Monday.
It is worth mentioning here that the Paragliding Pre World Cup is being held at Bir Billing from October 27 to November 3 in which around 160 pilots, including foreigners, would participate.
