Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the railway over bridge, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee, at Mokhampur in Dehradun on Friday. The bridge is likely to solve the traffic congestion problem on Dehradun-Haridwar-Rishikesh highway. The construction work of the 1,050 Mts long and 18.80 Mts wide bridge began during the earlier Congress government.
Tourists visiting Dehradun used to constantly complain about getting stuck at traffic jams at Mokhampur. As the railway gate was closed several times a day, the wait used to cause inconvenience to the public.
