Virat Kohli does not need us, we need him: Bumrah
Bumrah, however, stressed that Kohli knows his cricket better than anyone else and that his experience of batting in these challenging conditions was essential from the team’s perspective.
Virat Kohli’s Test ton against West Indies is also his 17th Test century as the skipper.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Friday scored his 24th Test century on Thursday to become the second fastest batsman to achieve this feat. The century came during the opening Test match of two-match Test series against West Indies being played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
The 29-year-old captain reached the three-digit figure on the second day of the first Test with the help of seven boundaries and in the process became the eleventh Indian cricketer to complete 3000 runs at home in the longest format of the game.
