Haryana will be made stray cattle- free by26 January 2019. Strict actions would be taken against those, whose cattle are found roaming on the roads and fine would also be imposed on them.

This was disclosed by the additional principal secretary to Chief Minister, Rakesh Gupta who was presiding over a review meeting of various development works, schemes and projects, with all deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and other officers of districts, through video conferencing here.

He said that further action plan would be prepared keeping in view the performance of those districts which are doing well in making their district stray cattle-free.

Strict action would be taken against those, whose cattle are found roaming on the roads and fine would also be imposed on them. Every month, discussion would be held with the concerned officers in this regard.

Under Haryana Vision Zero scheme, Gupta directed the officers to ensure that roads are properly painted for ensuring visibility on roads for safe movement of traffic. He directed all the concerned nodal officers to work on road safety in time bound manner and also attend the meeting of the concerned deputy commissioners.

While reviewing Zero Tolerance, he said that Ambala, Kurukshetra and Sonipat districts are performing well under the scheme, but Panipat needs to improve. He cautioned the officers of Gurugram to start taking Zero Tolerance seriously and complete their works in time, else strict actions would be taken against them.

On road safety, he directed the officers of those districts which do not have traffic control room and CCTV cameras to ensure setting up of the same, at the earliest. He said that the facility of e-Challan and e- Payment would be initiated in selected 12 districts and after their successful implementation, the facility would also be implemented in other districts.

Gupta said Haryana Roads will be made pothole free by January 2019. Reviewing Harpath App, he said that 22,000 complaints have been received so far through this App, out of which maximum complaints i.e. 10,000 pertains to Urban Local Bodies.
