The Afghanistan cricket team will kick-start their Asia Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on Monday, 17 September 2018. The match will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are placed in Group B along with Bangladesh.

The match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will start from 5 pm onwards (IST) and the toss will take place at 4:30 PM (IST).

Though Afghanistan is not a very strong team, they are very much capable of upsetting Sri Lanka if their recent success is taken into consideration.

On Monday, Sri Lanka will aim to bounce back from their humiliating 137-run defeat against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2018 opener. On the other hand, Afghanistan will be full of confidence seeing the poor performance of Sri Lanka in the last match and will look to start their campaign on a positive note.

Sri Lanka need to defeat Afghanistan to stay alive in the ongoing tournament. Meanwhile, a win against Sri Lanka will ensure Afghanistan a place in the Super Four.
