RajKummar Rao sets an early example by casting his vote
RajKummar Rao casts his vote early in Maharashtra Assembly polls, urging citizens to participate. Voting underway across 288 constituencies with tight security.
The film opened to a very positive response at the box-office as it earned Rs 6.83 crore and by the end of its first weekend, it crossed Rs 30 crore mark.
Stree, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, has been well received by the audience as well as the critics as the film has entered the Rs 100 crore club.
The news was corroborated by trade analyst Taran Adarsh by a tweet which read, “And #Stree hits a century… Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark [ Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr, Sat 3.76 cr. Total: ₹ 101.43 cr. India biz… This one’s a LOTTERY for its investors.”

With this feat, Stree has become the ninth film released this year that has earned more than Rs 100 crore. Previously, Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Baaghi 2, Raazi, Race 3, Sanju, and Gold have earned more than Rs 100 crore in 2018.

Meanwhile, producer Dinesh Vijan has confirmed the sequel of Stree. Speaking to DNA he said, “The film’s last two shots actually set up the sequel. When you watch the movie, you will understand that we intentionally had an open ending. Stree 2 will start off from there and explain those shots. We have written it as a franchise so there will be a sequel. We are happy that the confidence in the content has paid off.”
The shooting of Stree 2 will commence in 2019.
Amar Kaushik’s directorial is doing much better than Dharmendra, Sunny Deol,
and Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se which was released on the same day.
A horror-comedy, Stree was released on August 31. It is directed by Amar Kaushik who had earlier directed Aaba (2017) while it has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, Krishna DK, and Raj Nidimoru.
