Dark alleys, chilling screams and inescapable truth of human trafficking, Tabrez Noorani’s film Love Sonia is meant to give you goosebumps. The director, who has been planning this film for a decade now and the stellar star cast has brought forth a hard-hitting story of sex trafficking in India.

The highly anticipated film, Love Sonia’s trailer was released by the makers on Thursday. It unveils the story of a 17-year-old girl, Sonia, played by Mrunal Thakur who risks her life to rescue her sister from a vicious human trafficking network across India, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Anupam Kher essays the role of the man who forces Adil Hussain’s character, the father of the protagonist, to sell her daughter. We even got a glimpse of Richa Chadha and Freida Pinto as sex workers, who tries to make the girl accustomed to the rules of that world. Rajkummar Rao is introduced as the saviour in the story. Hollywood actress Demi Moore could be seen listening to the story of the victim’s journey. Finally, promising her sister that she would find her out, Sonia signs off.

Mrinal Thakur, who would be making her debut with this film, while talking about her role says, “This is probably the best role, team and a film to start up with. I am extremely glad to debut amongst all the talented actors,” IANS quoted her as saying.

The Tabrez Noorani directorial features Mrinal Thakur, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Richa Chadha, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao and Sai Tamhankar. The film is scheduled to release on September 14.
