Throughout the night, there were reportedly a lot of unidentified technical glitches from the focus puller not being able to focus, to lights going off repeatedly to bulbs shattering. The shoot became smooth once it was dawn.
“A day prior to our shoot, a few locals came to me and told that the street we had picked up for the shoot was haunted and no one goes there,” Kaushik told IANS.
“Since we had to shoot a night scene, they were particularly worried. However, we went ahead with the shoot as the location perfectly suited our requirements but that particular night we faced a lot of difficulties while shooting,” he added.

The film is based on an urban legend set in a small village named Chanderi in Bhopal. The story is inspired by the Karnataka case of Nale Ba, which took place in the 1990s. According to people, a witch roamed around the lanes and knocked at doors, imitating a voice of someone known to the resident. The people who answered the door died mysteriously. The people then started writing ‘Nale Ba’ on the walls, which means “come tomorrow“, to avoid the witch.
Stree is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 31, 2018. The film is backed by Maddock Films, jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj and DK.
