Air Chief Marshal AP Singh encourages NCC cadets to uphold unity and discipline
Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2025 at Delhi Cantt, on Wednesday.
Five terrorists, including top Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) commander Umar Malik, were killed on Saturday in an encounter with security forces in the Kiloora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The encounter had started on Friday when one terrorist was killed in the evening. Four more bodies of terrorists were recovered from the area early on
Saturday. Their AK assault rifles have also been recovered.

Initially, there was report of a civilian having been killed in the crossfire, but the police denied any such incident. A mob of miscreants that gathered near the encounter spot tossed petrol bombs and stones at the security forces in a bid to enable the holed up terrorists escape.

Police said that the security forces, including the Army, CRPF and J&K Police had jointly launched a search and tracked the group of terrorists who started firing from inside a residential house. This led to the encounter.
