Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday said the supply of ration and other essential commodities for Bara Bhangal in Kangra district would be ensured through government helicopter.
The area has been cut off from the rest of the state as the pedestrian path between Bara Gaon to Bara Bhangal had been damaged due to heavy rains.
After presiding over a meeting to review situation after recent heavy rains across the state, Thakur said three to four sorties will be held in a day so that the people of the Bara Bhangal could get adequate essential commodities.

He asked the MLA of Baijnath Mulkh Raj to personally monitor the relief process.
“If the helicopter flights do not take place due to unfavourable climatic conditions, the supply of essential items will be ensured through mule route from Patlikuhal,” he said. The CM asked deputy commissioner of Kangra to restore the damaged path on priority so that people did not face further inconvenience.
Bara Bhangal is home to over 800 villagers and 400 shepherds and access to the area, which is surrounded by the Dhauladhar, Pangi, and Manimahesh ranges, is considered extremely perilous.
Most of the roads, leading to the area, remain closed for about eightmonths a year and the alternate route over a cliff, is dangerous and possible only six months a year.
Further, the road, which had to be repaired, comes under sanctuary land and the wildlife wing has not given an approval to develop more paths.
There were reports that essential supplies haven’t been able to reach the village due to recurring landslides which have washed away most of the main routes.
