On 27 July, Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar broke the news of Priyanka Chopra walking out of the film. Ever since the announcement was made, one recurring question has been about PeeCee’s replacement. While fans are out there suggesting actresses who could be cast as the leading lady, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has maintained the suspense.

He took to Twitter on Saturday and said he would announce the leading lady for his upcoming directorial soon. “Yes yes yes… We will announce the leading lady of Bharat soon. We have been shooting non-stop and simultaneously preparing for international schedules,” Zafar tweeted.
On Friday, Zafar announced that actress Priyanka Chopra has opted out of the Salman Khan starrer for a “very special” reason.
While Zafar expressed his happiness over Priyanka’s decision, co-producer of Bharat, Nikhil Namit termed her ‘unprofessional’. According to Mid Day, Namit said,”Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly.”

The first schedule included shooting for a grand circus sequence. The film is an official adaptation of a 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. It is produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
Bharat, which will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi, is slated for an Eid release in 2019.
