France is still celebrating the nation’s second World Cup triumph and Paul Pobga, one of the star’s of their run at the quadrennial showpiece in Russia, has penned an emotional post on Instagram describing what it feels like to be a world champion.

Pogba, who plies his trade for Premier League giants Manchester United, had already dedicated his maiden World Cup win to his mother and late father.

His father had passed a little over a year ago after a protracted illness and the central midfielder’s tribute to his parents went viral for all the right reasons.

And here’s the 25-year-old’s latest post, in which he describes the giddy feeling of lifting the Coupe du Monde:

🇫🇷 J’ai toujours pensé que gagner la Coupe du Monde me permettrait de réaliser mon rêve. Mais quand j’ai vu les espoirs et la joie de nos fantastiques supporters durant le tournoi, j’ai compris que ce rêve n’était pas le mien. Ce rêve était le NÔTRE et je devais jouer ma partition pour qu’il se réalise. Je ne suis qu’un maillon de la chaîne qui a permis de remporter cette nouvelle étoile ⭐, et je me sentirai toujours honoré d’avoir aidé à l’imprimer sur notre maillot ⭐🏆🙏🏾 . 🇬🇧I always thought wining the World Cup meant making my dream come true. But when I saw the hopes and joy of our wonderful supporters in the tournament I understood the dream was not mine. The dream was OURS and I had to do my part to make it happen. Pogba, notably, scored in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final for Les Bleus against Croatia. His strike made it 3-1 to the French and effectively put the game beyond the reach of the Vatreni.

Formerly the world’s most expensive footballer, Pogba ended the tournament with just one goal from seven starts, but he won’t mind as he held the World Cup trophy aloft at the end.

For now he can soak in all the acclaim and jet off for a well-earned vacation but the best don’t rest and as the Premier League season draws near, he’ll be expected to link up with his club teammates by the second week of August.

United open the 2017-18 Premier League campaign as they host Leicester City at Old Trafford on August 10.

Jose Mourinho has previously stated that he won’t be playing the players who reached the latter stages of the World Cup against the Foxes.

Along with Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku (both Belgium), Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard (all four England) reached the semi-finals in Russia and are also not expected to feature in their season opener.
