In a bizarre incident, a 10-year-old boy was shot dead by a watchman as he was plucking mangoes at Pathraha village in Khagaria district of Bihar on Thursday.
The boy, identified as Satyam Kumar of Shergarh village, was shot in a mango orchard where some other children were also playing. According to the father of the victim, 43-year-old orchard watchman Ramashish Yadav killed his son for plucking mangoes.
“Satyam’s father Makuni Yadav (38) has alleged his child was shot for plucking mangoes. The other children fled from the spot and informed the villagers,” Gogri police station SHO Deepak Kumar Yadav told the Times of India.

The TOI report added that the accused is absconding.
“Probe is on, and we will know the truth soon,” SHO added.
The police have not recovered any weapon from the crime scene. They will also investigate the angle of accidental firing.
