Soil testing lab proposals for 4 Haryana districts

Haryana government has, so far, received 19 proposals from local entrepreneurs for setting up village level soil testing projects under National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture.

While giving this information on Thursday, an official spokesman said Union government had introduced this concept of establishment of soil testing projects at village level by local entrepreneurs under soil health management component of National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture.

The proposals from the districts of Kaithal, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sonipat have been received. The scheme would be implemented on 60:40 sharing basis by the Centre and the state Government in Haryana.He said that preference would be given to the villages coming under SaansadAadarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY). The total cost of the project is fixed at Rs Five lakh with a provision of 75 per cent assistance per soil testing laboratory for all categories of entrepreneurs.

On eligibility condition, he said that entrepreneurs with second division with Science in Matric and in the age group of 18 to 45 years are eligible for setting up these projects.The selection of beneficiary would be carried out by the district level executive committee under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner of district concerned.

The targets for setting up of the project in each district of the state have been fixed and the deputy commissioners have been directed to submit the proposals by June 30, 2018 for further submission to the Union government.
