Tea Board sets 2025 plucking and making timeline
Tea Board of India has announced that tea plucking and manufacturing for the 2025 cropping season will commence only after winter dormancy ends, allowing tea bushes to sprout fresh buds.
The accident took place at Chetu Dhar near Gajedi on the Theog-Chailla road in Shimla district on Friday morning when a Himachal Road Transportation Corporation bus was on its way from Tikkar to Shimla
Nine persons died and 19 sustained injuries when the Himachal Road Transportation Corporation (HRTC) bus they were travelling in rolled down a gorge on Friday. The accident took place at Chetu Dhar near Gajedi on the Theog-Chaila road in Shimla district.
The toll went up by one when an injured, Anil Kumar, died at the IGMC Hospital in Shimla on Friday evening.

Earlier in the day, Shimla Deputy Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma rushed to the spot after the police were informed of the accident.

Sharma said the HRTC bus was on its way from Shimla to Tikkar when the accident occurred around 8 am. The accident spot is about 5 km from Chaila.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
The driver of the bus, Rajeev, was among those who died.
The next of kin of all the deceased have been given a cash relief of Rs 15,000 each by the district administration.
Two of the injured have been admitted to the Government Civil Hospital in Theog, while 19 injured were shifted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Hospital in Shimla. One of the injured, Sukhdev Pandit, succumbed to injuries at IGMC later.
