Himachal Govt should withdraw Guest Teacher Policy: Jai Ram Thakur
Leader of Oppostion and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while slamming the Guest Teacher Policy, on Monday said that the state government cannot be allowed to act arbitarily.
Call it his common man’s touch, Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur has taken a unique initiative of using tempo travelers or travelling to attend various functions of President, Ram Nath Kovind in Shimla along with cabinet colleagues and officers to ensure smooth traffic in a larger interest of local commuters and tourists.
In all, eight such vehicles of Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC) have been arranged that will be used during the Presidents stay at Shimla.

A release here said the CM, ministers and officers would travel in these vehicles for various functions like At Home, Civic Reception and visit to the Retreat etc.

Today, the CM along with Speaker, HP Assembly Dr Rajiv Bindal, Cabinet ministers, Chief Secretary and other senior officers of the state government travelled in tempo travellers from Secretariat to the Retreat and back.
“This initiative will help in avoiding inconvenience to the general public as use of fewer vehicles would help in maintaining smooth traffic flow in the city. Moreover, this is also a step towards cost cutting and environment protection,” the CM said.
The President is in Shimla till 25 May on six-day visit and is staying at his official summer residence, The Retreat at Chhrabra located on the outskirts of Shimla.
