In the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), resurgent Royal Challengers Bangalore outplayed Ravichandran Ashwin’s Kings XI Punjab and kept their hope alive to play in the knockout stage, on Monday at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

However, other than RCB’s clinical performance, skipper Virat Kohli also became the talk of the town after a video surfaced on the internet in which, he can be seen arguing with the umpires.

The incident took place in the 13th over of the first innings of the game, when Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Andrew Tye asked for the review after getting out and later withdrew his appeal after talking to his partner. Tye’s withdrawal from the DRS appeal led to skipper Virat Kohli fuming over the umpires.

Earlier on Monday, RCB produced a dominating performance to outclass Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets.

After winning the toss, Virat Kohli opted to field and bundled out Kings XI for paltry 88, RCB chased down the target with consummate ease, reaching 92 for no loss in 8.1 overs.

Skipper Virat Kohli led from the front with the bat with an unbeaten 48 while Parthiv Patel made unbeaten 40 to help RCB romp home.

Kohli struck six fours and two towering sixes during his 28-ball unbeaten knock, while Parthiv’s innings was laced with seven boundaries.

While Kings XI slumped to their third successive loss, RCB improved upon their net run rate by sealing the victory in 8.1 overs.
