Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has a very interesting connection with former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.
Yes, you heard it right. According to a report in TOI, Obama, who is familiar with some of Bollywood’s A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, also once acknowledged Dutt as an actor.
However, Obama doesn’t know Dutt’s real name, rather he knows him from one of his of most iconic characters ever: ‘Munna Bhai’.

On the teaser launch of Sanju, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, writer Abhijat Joshi recalled an interesting incident between Obama and Dutt, where the former was indirectly introduced to the actor’s stardom overseas.
In 2004, Obama and Dutt were present at the same event in Chicago and it was at this time that Obama got to know who the actor was when he walked in at the red carpet.
Apparently, when Dutt arrived at the event, the crowd left Obama and started to chant Munna Bhai and ran towards him to greet the actor.
It’s quite to safe say that the Bollywood actors sometimes leave an ever lasting impression of their characters and it stands true in Dutt’s case. Even the US President remembers Deadly Dutt as Munna Bhai.
Sanju starring Ranbir is one of the most awaited films of 2018 and also co-stars Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. The film is all set to release worldwide on June 29.
