Aneek Chaudhari’s silent movie White which is produced under the banner of La artiste is all set to open at Festival de Cannes under the Marche du film category. Aneek has had several films screened at Cannes, IFFI Goa, British Council and a lot more renowned film festivals. His last film The Wife’s Letter was screened there last year.
Aneek reacted on the Cannes opening, saying, “One could not expect a better opening anyway! Cannes is the mecca of Cinema where each and every filmmaker is given his/her due. We would surely look forward to cashing in with more networking as we stress on sustainability”.
White is a silent film that talks about sexual assaults on women. The film is an amalgamation of three tales about three women. The duration of the film is 74 minutes.
Sending the message through a silent film is the challenge Aneek took. Aneek said: “It was not a challenge, but more of a necessity when we had to involve universality in our film. It was tough when expressions needed to be top-notch so that our target audiences would be able to emphasize with the characters.”
