Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday demanded strict action against people involved in the alleged leak of CBSE examination papers in the national capital.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Kejriwal said that he felt “sorry” and “sad” for the students who had to give their exams again for no fault of theirs.

“I really feel sorry and sad for the students who have to give their exams again for no fault of theirs. Responsibility shud be fixed n strict action shud be taken against those responsible (sic),” Kejriwal tweeted.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, AAP MLA Nitin Tyagi said the CBSE and the central government have completely failed to conduct free and fair examinations in the country.

“The way CBSE papers leaked is very unfortunate. The CBSE and the central government have failed completely. Why are the children being punished for the failure of the BJP and its institutions,” Tyagi said.

Tyagi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre has completely failed in running the primary institutions of the country. “First, there was a news of SSC paper leak. Then the date of election was leaked and now the CBSE paper gets leaked. This current Modi government is the leakage government,” he said.

The CBSE has announced re-examination in the Class 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics papers in the wake of reports of the leaks.

This is the second incident of this kind that has taken place in the past two weeks. On 15 March, the Delhi government had said it has received complaints of the Class 12 CBSE Accountancy paper being leaked. A probe was later ordered even though the Board denied any such leak.

Meanwhile, under attack over board paper leaks, CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal today said that the decision to hold re-examination of two subjects was taken in favour of the students and the new dates for the tests would be announced soon.

The remarks came a day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in a circular, said that students would have to take re-test for Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics subjects.
