Delhi police tracks 311 missing children this year
Operation Milap is an initiative of the city police to unite the missing and kidnapped children with their families
The Delhi Police has arrested a Nigerian national from Bihar for killing another Nigerian national.
The accused has been identified as as Osaretin alias Ogbuku (35). He was planning to flee Nepal via Assam.

According to Romil Banya, DCP South Delhi, on March 9 around 11 p.m. a PCR call was received regarding stabbing of a Nigerian on 60 Ft Road in Chattarpur Pahari area. The police reached the spot and rushed him to AIIMS Trauma Center where he was declared brought dead. His identity was established as one Hillary, a Nigerian national lived in Chattarpur Pahari area of South Delhi,” said DCP.

In this regard, a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code was registered and an investigation was taken up. Prime facie it appeared to have involvement of more than two to three people. CCTV footage of the area was gathered and analyzed.
After cross-examination of many Nigerian locals, it was revealed that a fight broke between two Nigerian groups after they consumed alcohol. After interrogation of many African nationals, one Osaretin alias Ogbuku was identified as the prime suspect in the case.
A police team raided at his house at Faridabad, Haryana but he was found missing from his house. On technical surveillance, his presence was located at Jalandhar, Punjab.
The police team was rushed to Punjab and made searches for him at all possible hideouts. At last, it was learned that he has hired one paid cab and left for Assam.
“Police team started verifying all the cabs which left from Jalandhar towards Assam/Bihar side. Their hard work paid the dividend when the accused was spotted in Assam in the particular cab he booked from Punjab. The information was immediately shared with senior officers and they sounded the local police of Bihar state to place the check post on the route taken by the accused person in the car falling on Darbhanga, Supaul, Kosi River and Kishanganj. Finally, the swift coordination between Bihar Police & Delhi Police resulted in the apprehension of an alleged accused person at Kishanganj. The police team of P.S Mehrauli reached at Kishanganj and arrested the accused,” said Banya.
On sustained interrogation, the accused revealed that he and his friends brutally thrashed the deceased and later on to make sure no identification they stabbed him on chest ensuring his death.
“He further disclosed that he was going to hide in Assam to avoid being detected by Delhi Police. He planned to shift to Nepal after some time to ensure escape to his country back. However investigation is still going on to identify his friends who were involved in the murder,” said DCP.
