Steps to check outsiders’ movement in J&K district ahead of R-Day
The Jammu & Kashmir Police, army and para military forces have been directed to strengthen check posts on the National Highway bordering Pakistan.
The body of a third terrorist involved in the attack on a BJP leader and his personal security officer (PSO) in Balhama area of Pulwama in South Kashmir was recovered on Saturday morning. According to the Jammu-Kashmir police, “incriminating” materials were recovered and the area is being cleared by the BD squad.
On Friday, security forces comprising the police and the Army killed two of the three terrorists in Balhama Khunmoo area a day after they unsuccessfully tried to snatch the weapon of the PSO of BJP leader Anwar Khan.

Other security officials of the politician managed to prevent the terrorists from fleeing with the weapon. Constable Bilal Ahmad, the PSO, received a bullet injury in the process.
DGP J-K Police, Shesh Paul Vaid, had on Thursday tweeted that there were three terrorists involved in the weapon snatching bid.
According to reports, two other police personnel received injuries in the counter-terror operation launched on Thursday to flush out the terrorists. The operation also damaged houses.
