BJP will corner AAP govt on public interest issues in Assembly:Gupta
The Leader of the Opposition said that this government has failed on every front.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Tuesday approved a proposal to deliver monthly ration at homes of beneficiaries in the national Capital.
The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Addressing a press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the project for doorstep delivery of ration was aimed at reforming the targeted public distribution system in public interest.

Sisodia said the proposal would now be sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for approval and then a tender would be floated for hiring the private company to deliver ration.
“I urge the L-G to approve the scheme as soon as possible. People with vested interests had tried to stop the scheme,” Sisodia said.
Sisodia said the beneficiaries who avail the ration PDS scheme would be given ration that shall include wheat and rice in sealed packets at their doorsteps.
The minister said the proposal was aimed at providing a higher level of transparency in delivery system through inbuilt online monitoring system which would weed out corruption and diversion of foodgrains.
“It will also save time and resources of ration beneficiaries of Delhi,” he added.
Sisodia said Aadhar-based identification of ration holders was one such reform, which faced teething troubles, resulting in beneficiaries facing unforeseen problems.
“Given this experience, doorstep delivery of ration is aimed at removing the problems faced by ration beneficiaries.
Delhi government is committed to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their due ration in a transparent manner with maximum ease,” he said.
Last week, AAP government had accused chief secretary Anshu Prakash and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for working under the influence of ration mafia.
