Coronavirus: Wuhan-type makeshift 1,000-bed mega-hospital coming up in Mumbai
The hospital is being constructed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) at a sprawling ground in the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Saturday announced appointment of contractors for the elevated viaducts and stations on the Metro-2B and Metro 4 corridors in the Mumbai-Thane region.
The corridors are DN Nagar-Mandale Metro-2B corridors, 23.6 km long and costing Rs 10,986 crore, and the Wadala-Thane Metro 4 corridor, 32.3 km long and costing Rs 14,549-crore, said MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner U.P.S. Madan.

A consortium of MBZ and RCC has been appointed for package 6 of Metro-2B and a consortium of GGYHBCL, Neeraj Cement Structural Ltd and MPKHS Pvt Ltd to construct the viaduct and stations of package 7 of Metro-2B, he said.

The six stations of package 6 are MTNL Metro, SG Barve Marg, Kurla Terminus, Kurla East, EEH and Chembur, slated to cost Rs 521-crore.
The five stations on package 7 are Diamond Garden, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL Metro, Mankhurd and Mandale, slated to cost Rs 393-crore.
For the Metro-4 corridor’s viaduct and stations, a consortium of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and ASTALDI have been appointed for the packages 8, 10 and 12, while a consortium of TATA Project Ltd and China Harbour Engineering Company has been approved for packages 9 and 11.
The six stations under package 8 are Bhakti Park, Wadala TT, Anik Nagar Bus Depot, Suman Nagar, Siddharth Colony and Amar Mahal Junction, slated to cost Rs 540-crore; under package 10 the six stations are Gandhi Nagar, Neval Housing, Bhandup Mahapalika, Bhandup Metro, Shangrila and Sonapur costing Rs 513 crore; and six stations under package 12 are Kapurbawdi, Manpada, Tikuji-ni-Wadi, Dongripada, Vijay Garden and Kasarvadavali, costing Rs 531 crore.
The seven stations under package 9 are Garodia Nagar, Pant Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Shreyas Cinema, Godrej Company, Vikhroli Metro and Surya Nagar slated to cost Rs 532-crore; and under package 11 the seven stations are Mululnd Fire Station, Mulund Naka, Teen Haat Naka, RTO Thane, Mahapalika Marg, Cadbury Junction and Majiwade, costing Rs 510-crore.
The MMRDA’s executive committee also approved Rs 237-crore for the four-km long Thane-Belapur Road which includes a 1.70 km long tunnel, a rail overbridge at Kopri, Thane, costing Rs 125-crore, improvements to the Chheda Nagar Flyover at Rs 223-crore, improvements of Murdha Gaon-Uttar Gaon Road in Thane for Rs 61-crore, and a two-km road connecting Jesal Park-Ghodbunder Road in Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation area, costing Rs 55 crore.
