Premier League clubs approve changes to associated party transaction rules
The proposed changes came into play after an independent tribunal found some aspects of the APT rules to be unlawful following Manchester City’s lawsuit.
How does Paul Pogba celebrate a win over a direct rival? With a haircut, of course!
Most footballers celebrate a win over a direct rival by splurging on a flashy new toy (read: car) or perhaps by getting inked, but Paul Pogba is not your average footballer and the French midfielder has got himself a trim to mark Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.
While it was a must-win game for the Red Devils as they sought to cement their place in the top-four, Sunday’s tie at Old Trafford had plenty at stake for Pogba, once the world’s most expensive player, as well.
For the 24-year-old midfielder had been pushed out of the starting XI in recent weeks by manager Jose Mourinho, giving rise to speculation that the two were at loggerheads after what has been an topsy-turvy season.
Ander Herrera’s injury, however, paved the way for United’s record signing to start against the Blues and notably, Mourinho did not hook him in the second-half as Pogba completed the full 90 minutes for the first time in over a month.
Notably, Pogba celebrated Jesse Lingard’s 75th-minute winner with a ‘Wakanda Forever’ celebration, paying tribute to Marvel’s Black Panther movie that is shattering records after records at the box office currently.
In the past, Pogba has come under stinging criticism from ex-footballers-turned-pundits for his ‘haircut-to-goals-ratio’, as the old guard feel the midfielder needs to buckle down and focus on what he can do on the pitch, rather the frills off it.
Clearly, Pogba is undeterred by the flak coming his way and his latest Instagram post proves he’s going to do things his own way.
Fans will get to see the new haircut in United’s next game, an away tie against Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace. Mourinho’s men, second in the table travel to the capital as heavy favourites, but will look to avoid complacency when they take on the Eagles on Monday night.
