Dharmendra Pradhan moots five key areas for academicians to focus on
Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan has suggested academic leaders and administrators to focus on five key areas.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik rounded off his campaign for the Bijepur assembly bypoll be promising people that if the BJD candidate Ms Rita Sahu is elected, he will personally take care of the constituency and things will change for the better in one year time.
The BJP too stepped by its campaign with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ramkripal Yadav addressing public meetings promising development of the region and criticising the BJD for failing to do so in 18 long years of power.
The Congress which has been starved of resources and riddled with infighting resorted to street side meetings and door to door campaign. Hardly 60 hours left for the by election to Bijepur constituency, all the political parties and the major three ones-BJD, BJP and Congress are putting their best efforts in appeasing voters.

From door to door campaigns to general meetings, these three parties are busy in their last minute action. The Chief Minister has been appealing to the sentiments of the people by recalling the deeds of late Subal Sahu and stating that his wife Rita Sahu is committed to fulfill the dreams of Subal Sahu.
He also spoke of the Parbati Giri lift irrigation project, demand for reduction/ waiver of GST on handloom etc. He further said that the state government has recommended centre to include Sambalpuri Koshali language in the eighth schedule of constitution.
BJP was in no way left behind the race. Dharmendra Pradhan accompanied by another central minister Ramkripal Yadav addressed at Mahada and other places to the party supporters and common people. They said that development is only possible if the BJP is voted to power.
They appealed voters to vote for Ashok Panigrahi and make Modi stronger in the country. Congress candidate Praynay Sahu went door to door seeking votes and pointing out at failures of the BJD and BJP governments at the state and centre.
