Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday rejected the proposal of moving no-trust motion against the NDA government as suggested by Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy saying it was aimed at cornering the ruling TDP.
Accusing Reddy of playing politics and trying to take advantage of the situation, Naidu said YSRCP was waiting for TDP to come out of the alliance and then taking its place in the NDA. “YSRCP is waiting for us to come out of NDA and then they can join the alliance,” said Naidu while explaining that moving a no- trust motion in Parliament would be futile.
Naidu was visiting the Polavaram dam site on Monday, one of the key reasons behind the strain on TDP-BJP ties. Both Jana Sena and YSRCP’s Jaganmohan Reddy have been goading the TDP to move a no- confidence motion against the government in Parliament but Naidu made it clear it would not serve any purpose.

The chief minister said since BJP enjoys absolute majority, the motion would be defeated. There are representatives of several political parties and they have to be brought together on the issue to muster support for AP. Instead of no trust motion the issue should be raised in the debate. “Jagan does not understand these nuances and instead wants us to resign from the Parliament,” said Naidu. Reddy announced his MPs would resign if special category status was not granted by 6 April.
He criticised the state BJP leaders for indicating that AP was flush with Central funds. According to Naidu the state BJP leaders were only talking about Central funds which are granted to every other state but they are silent on the commitments under AP Reorganisation Act that was passed in Parliament. He also criticised the Congress saying they are also silent on the issue.
