A 40-year-old teacher of a government school, who claimed blindness, was arrested for sexually exploiting two minor girls, both students of class eight. The accused was identified as Avdhesh Prajapati.
DCP Aslam Khan (North West) stated: “Two cases have been registered against the teacher and he has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Some more students are coming forward with complaints. Further necessary legal action will be taken against the accused.”
According to a senior officer, the incident was reported on Friday afternoon from North West Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area after two class eight students shared their trauma with each other on how they were being inappropriately touched by their teacher.

Claiming to be partially blind, the teacher allegedly used to touch students. Finally, one student stood up against the teacher’s behaviour. She discussed his inappropriate actions one of her classmates, who too confirmed being victim of a similar act by the teacher. The matter was subsequently reported to school authorities, said the officer.
Police suspect that “apart from sexually harassing the two students, Kumar had exploited nearly 30 to 40 others.”
A senior police officer, “the two students dropped a letter in the complaint box. After reading that the principal called them,”
The two girls told police that whenever Kumar used to touch them inappropriately, he used to act innocent asking for forgiveness for he was blind. But the following day he used to continue with his condemnable acts against minor girls,” said a senior police officer.
Based on the statements of the two minor girls, a case under Protection of Children Sexual Offences Act was registered against the teacher. He was taken into custody on Saturday evening.
The officer explained, “even though the arrest was made on Saturday, we are waiting for the school to open on Monday to question other teachers and the school principal.”
