Himachal CM gives clean chit to ministers and MLAs in Assembly on corruption issue
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has given a clean chit to his ministers and MLAs on the issue of corruption.
With seizures of over 255 kg of illegal contraband after awards were announced by Director General of Police (DGP), SR Mardi to take on drug mafia in Himachal Pradesh (HP), the state police have announced rewards for cops for nabbing proclaimed offenders.
Superintendent of Police, Law and Order Khushal Sharma said a reward scheme has been announced by the HP Police to arrest proclaimed offenders in serious offences.

“Under the scheme, cops who would arrest three proclaimed offenders of any district would be awarded with first class commendation certificate along with a cash prize of Rs 500,” he said, adding the awards would boost the morale of cops and result in better law and order situation in HP.

Besides this, the Police officials would arrest six proclaimed offenders of the state would be conferred with DGP Disk award. Though only one officer of the team of police officials would be conferred with award that had played important role in the task, he said.
Sharma said the arrest of only those proclaimed offenders’ arrest would be considered who are booked under criminal offences and now under Negotiable Instruments Act.
Earlier, the HP police had started crackdown on drug mafia and had constituted Special Task Forces (STF) for all districts on 24 January to take on organised drug syndicates across the state.
The police have also announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for any info on recovery of huge contraband narcotic substances (8 kg and above) and officials who would make substantial recoveries of drugs would also rewarded for outstanding work.
Under the campaign that started on 19 January, police officials have recovered 53 kg charas, 155 kg poppy husk, 57 kg ganja (marijuana), 517 gm opium, heroin, cocaine and banned intoxicating
drugs.
HP police had so far awarded one Police official with DGP Disk while 18 officials have been conferred with first class commendation certificate along with a cash prize of Rs 7,000.
Twenty others cops including Superintendent of Police, Simaur have also been awarded for solving crime cases which includes murder cases at Boileauganj in Shimla, Jawali in Kangra district and ATM cloning case in Sirmaur district.
It is worthwhile to mention here that HP Police has also launched intensive campaign to curb traffic violations and road accidents across the state.
So far, 10,345 violators were fined for traffic violations, out of which 61 were challaned for drunk driving, 5,000 for driving two-wheelers without helmet, 414 for rash and negligent driving, 489 for talking on mobile phone and 3,636 for driving without seatbelts.
