Daya from CID returns to break doors in new season
CID is a popular Indian crime thriller that follows a team of detectives solving complex cases. Known for its gripping plots and iconic characters, the show has captivated audiences for years.
State BJP today severely criticised the CID for issuing an arrest warrant against former West Midnapore district police chief Bharati Ghosh on the charges of alleged extortion and criminal conspiracy.
BJP state secretary Sayantan Basu said that the state government is completely reactionary and working to fulfill the Trinamul Congress’ goal and its supremo Mamata Banerjee.
“CID officers are now chasing against a former woman IPS officer to fulfill the personal and political agenda of the TMC. A large number of police officers are involved in extortion, so who will arrest them? Our party knows very well which police officers raised how much money by evil means. We would also urge the Income Tax department to conduct raid on those police officers’ houses,” Mr Basu said.

He also threatened TMC leaders by saying that IT department will also conduct raid on their residences to “seize disproportionate assets and money.”
Mr Basu alleged that series of serious crimes took place elsewhere in the state, in which CID should conduct inquiry to nab the criminals but those crimes are not being investigated as this agency is working for malafide interest.
“Around 150 rounds of cartridges were recovered from South 24 Parganas but CID has no information. CID doesn’t have any interest to nab the culprits who stored bombs at Bhangor in South 24 Parganas. CID has now one target to find out Bharati. We know Bharati has a pen drive that stored many secret information against a heavyweight TMC leader. So the CID has desperate bid to arrest her,” he said.
Few days ago, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh also criticised CID raids against some officers, who are close to Bharati. He also welcomed Bharati to join the saffron brigade. Bharati was also known to close with BJP leader and former Trinamul Congress vice president Mukul Roy.
Mr Ghosh, however, once alleged that former SP West Midnapore Bharati hatched a conspiracy by accusing him in Srinu Naidu murder case at Kharagpur to malign him.
Speculation has also been riffed that realising this former controversial IPS officer, who was once a confidante of Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, has many “uncomfortable” secrets about Trinamul Congress, the state BJP is now going all out to convince Mrs Ghosh to join the BJP.
BJP’s national secretary Rahul Sinha said it is nothing new that Trinamul utilises an individual to the ultimate extent and just dumps that individual when the purpose is served.
“I am sure that Mrs Ghosh is realising that now. So, if she is willing to join Bharatiya Janata Party, our doors are always open,” Mr Sinha said.
Mrs Ghosh resigned from service on 28 December last year after she was removed as superintendent of West Midanpore district and transferred to a lesser significant post of state armed police battalion commandant.
Soon after that state BJP president, Dilip Ghosh had hinted at the possibility of the former IPS officer joining the party.
“If she expresses desire to join BJP, we will seriously think about it and discuss the matter with our national leadership,” he had said.
