After the #MeToo movement, many actresses from Hollywood opened up about their experience of sexual assault. The media moguls like Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey were at the receiving end. Recently, actor James Franco’s appearance at the Golden Globes evoked accusations against him too. Harry Potter actress Emma Watson spoke up against the issue and said that she had faced the full spectrum of sexual assault.

Now, Kill Bill actress Uma Thruman has voiced her take on the misconduct in Hollywood. She has accused the producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and entered the long list of victims. Thurman had last year said she had lots to say regarding the controversy but wanted to wait till she feels “less angry”. Now, she has come out with it in a New York Times article. The actress, who has worked with Weinstein in films like the “Kill Bill” franchise and “Pulp Fiction”, said the first “attack” happened at Weinstein’s suite at the Savoy Hotel in London.

“It was such a bat to the head. He pushed me down. He tried to shove himself on me. He tried to expose himself. He did all kinds of unpleasant things. But he didn’t actually put his back into it and force me. You’re like an animal wriggling away, like a lizard. I was doing anything I could to get the train back on the track. My track. Not his track,” Thurman said. She says he later tried to apologise with a “26-inch-wide vulgar bunch of roses”. “They were yellow. And I opened the note like it was a soiled diaper and it just said, ‘You have great instincts’.”

Weinstein, through a representative, has acknowledged making a pass at Thurman but said he immediately apologized.

Ilona Herman, Thurman’s friend informed her that Harvey had threatened to end her career. He although denied the accusations and said, “However, her claims about being physically assaulted are untrue… Mr. Weinstein is saddened and puzzled as to ‘why’ Ms. Thurman, someone he considers a colleague and a friend, waited 25 years to make these allegations public.”

Earlier, in an interview with Times, the actress had also accused Quentin Tarantino of risking her life while shooting a film. The actress said,  “I felt this searing pain and thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m never going to walk again, “Quentin and I had an enormous fight, and I accused him of trying to kill me.”
