The Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker dared to differ on the opinions about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The actress wrote an open letter on The Wire and expressed her thoughts on the jauhar scene in the film. Although she praised the director but criticised the climax filmed in his magnum opus Padmaavat.
The Anarkali of Aarah actor faced social media wrath on sharing her thoughts on the film.
Swara Bhasker’s letter ended of conveying that she felt reduced to a vagina only at the end of Padmaavat. Well-known names like Suchitra Krishnamoothi and Vivek Agnihotri were among those who accused her of “fake feminism”. But some names from the industry spoke out in her support.
