Petrol bomb hurled at police station in Shillong
The incident came close on the heels of the killing of two non-tribals during an anti-CAA protest in Ichamati and the subsequent arrest of two activists of the Khasi Students Union (KSU).
A petrol bomb was thrown into Myanmar State Counsellor and de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s residential compound here on Thursday, an official said.
Suu Kyi was in Nay Pyi Taw at the time of the incident and there were no casualties, Director-General of the State Counsellor office U Zaw Htay told Xinhua news agency.
“We were able to put out the fire in time,” he said. Authorities were searching for the perpetrator, the report said.
