Pad Man is actually a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham (played by Akshay in the film) who became a household name after inventing low-cost sanitary napkin making machines.
Pad Man was earlier slated to be released on January 25, 2018, but Akshay announced a delay in the release to February 9, 2018, to allow Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat to have a solo release on January 25, 2018. Pad Man will clash with Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary.
