It was a foggy and cold Sunday morning here with the minimum temperature recorded at 5 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average, the Met Office said.
Visibility at 5.30 a.m. stood at 300 metres which later improved to 600 metres while humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 100 per cent.
At least 15 trains were cancelled, 25 delayed and five rescheduled due to fog in several parts of northern India.
Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express and Poorva Express were among some major trains which were running late.
“The sky will be mainly clear during the day with moderate or mist in the morning,” said an official of India Meteorological Department.
The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 23 degrees Celsius.
Saturday’s maximum temperature settled at 22.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average and the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average.
