Fadnavis Tops List Of Ministers Drawn Up For Maha Swearing-In Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-dominated Mahayuti government is most likely to take place in Mumbai by Wednesday, November 27 or even earlier, it is learnt.
Exit polls conducted by various news agency platforms on Thursday, predicted a victory for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat, giving it a clear majority in the 2017 Assembly elections in the state.
A party has to win 92 seats or more to form a government in the state. In the 2012 Assembly elections in Gujarat, the BJP had won 115 seats, the Congress 61 and others, six.
The results for the Gujarat Assembly elections will be declared along with Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections result on 18 December.

Here is the list of exit polls results according to news agencies:
The Times Now-VMR Exit poll predicted 115 seats for the BJP, 64 for the Congress, and the remaining for other parties.
The Republic-C Voter Exit Poll gave the BJP 108 seats and the Congress, 74.
A poll on NDTV said the BJP would get 112 seats and the Congress 70.

The voter turnout for the second phase polling of Gujarat Assembly elections reached 68 per cent till 5 pm.
In the second phase, 93 assembly constituencies across 14 districts in northern and central regions went for polling on Thursday.
As many as 851 candidates are in the fray. A total of 25,575 polling booths have been set up in 14,523 regions.
Earlier on Thursday, Delhi police had detained Congress leaders and supporters from outside Election Commission of India’s office after they launched a protest against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for violating the poll code after casting his vote and said they would “expose the double standards” of the EC for not punishing PM Modi for his alleged violation.
Congress party workers gheraoed the poll panel office in Delhi in response to the alleged inaction by the agency after PM Modi conducted a ‘mini-roadshow’ on Rapin, Ahmedabad on Thursday morning. After casting his vote, PM Modi exited the booth but instead of going straight to his car, as all other VIP voters had done through the day, the Prime Minister chose to walk on the road. He walked for a few kilometres as he turned this into a mini-road show, waving to cheering supporters.
