Premier League clubs approve changes to associated party transaction rules
The proposed changes came into play after an independent tribunal found some aspects of the APT rules to be unlawful following Manchester City’s lawsuit.
What a way to break your duck in the Merseyside Derby!
Wayne Rooney scored his first-ever goal in a Merseyside Derby as Everton managed to hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League tie at Anfield on Sunday.
Dejan Lovren inexplicably pushed Dominic Calvert-Lewin inside the box when the Toffees forward was going away from goal and referee Craig Pawson gave a contentions penalty, which Rooney promptly converted in the 77th minute to ensure a share of the spoils.
From the first minute, Liverpool dominated the tie but without the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, who were benched, lacked that vital cutting edge in front of goal.

It was left to Mohamed Salah to conjure a moment of magic to give the Reds the lead three minutes before the interval. The Egyptian winger, who is the Premier League’s top scorer, shrugged of Cuco Martina before dancing past two Everton defenders and beating Jordan Pickford with a stunning curler to get Anfield roaring in unison.
Liverpool would have a golden opportunity to double their lead on the stroke of half-time and effectively put the game to bed when Sadio Mane raced through on goal with three teammates in support, but the Seneglase winger chose to shoot rather than pass and his attempt flashed wide of the goal.
The second-half began with Liverpool in the ascendancy, with Everton struggling to get the ball to their forwards, such was the home side’s dominance.
Klopp took off Salah in the second-half, but soon after the Egyptian’s departure, the visitors would equalise and the German tactician was forced to send on Coutinho in a bid to find the winner.
Everton, however, clung on for an important point and their unbeaten start under new manager Sam Allardyce continued as the Toffees remain in 10th place, three points behind ninth-ranked Watford.
For Liverpool, the draw will feel like a loss, especially since they knew that if the beat the Tofees, they could have leapfrogged third-placed Chelsea, who lost their game against West Ham United on Saturday.
Everton next travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday, who are floundering at the moment, while Liverpool host West Bromwich Albion on the same day and will look to put their derby day disappointment behind them against the Baggies, who are near the drop-zone.
