The separatists have called for a shutdown and blackout in the Kashmir Valley on the Human Rights Day on Sunday to protest against the “human rights violations” in the valley.
The call was given on Saturday by the top separatists Syed Alishah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik. Their call came after the separatists were not allowed by the police to hold a conference in Srinagar on “human rights violations” in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, they said that a protest rally will also be taken out from the Lal Chowk towards the United Nations Observers’ Office at Sonawar in Srinagar.

Blaming UNO for “chaos and uncertainty” in Palestine, Jammu and Kashmir, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and other parts of world, the separatist leaders said that in order to regain its credibility the institution has to review its policies, fulfill its obligations and resolve all issues pertaining to “subjugated nations”.
