Terming it to be a “dream come true” moment for him, Liverpool’s Joe Gomez said making his debut for England on Friday night against Germany at Wembley was special.

“It was special [making my debut]. It was a dream come true and something you always think about growing up and with me, coming from Charlton, it has been quite the journey,” ,” Gomez told Charlton Athletic’s official website, adding, “Obviously, you have dreams as a kid but to come on a journey and develop as I have is something that I am very thankful for.”

Gomez replaced Phil Jones in the 25th minute of the game.

Meanwhile, another Liverpool player Dominic Solanke has been included in the team for England’s match against Brazil on Tuesday.

Solanke, who was top goalscorer during the summer as England U20s achieved World Cup glory, joins goalkeeper Angus Gunn and midfielder Lewis Cook in the squad to face Brazil.
