Maynooth University, Ireland introduced music technology course in cooperation with the department of music and the department of computer science. Duration of the course is three years for BA and four years for BA international. The course strikes an important balance between theory and practice to ensure that students gain experience working with the essential concepts and practical skills involved in music technology.
Students have the option of taking up to three other subjects in first year and specialising in one other along with music technology in years two and three. The course fee is 13,500 per annum. The students must have minimum 75 per cent in standard 12 awarded through CBSE or ICSE or equivalent. IELTS score should be 6.5 minimum overall, 560 in TOEFL (Paper based test), 90 in TOEFL (Internet based test) and 59 in PTE (Pearson).

The University of Strathclyde, UK, is inviting applications for MSc Environmental Engineering course starting in September 2018. Closely aligned with industry’s demands, this course meets the needs of urban regeneration, land contamination management, environmental protection and infrastructure investment portfolios.
Candidates must have first-class undergraduate degree from a recognised Indian institution or upper second-class honours degree in environmental sciences, engineering, environmental management, biology, chemistry or other related disciplines. Ministry of Human Resource Development floated a tender for enabling 38 central universities within India to make them wifi enabled. IL&FS Technologies Limited won the tender after being evaluated on various parameters set by the ministry. Implementation of the project involves surveying the campus of the universities to understand the area, access points, switches, controllers and other important factors.
Later, designing, installing, commissioning, integrating and maintaining of active network components takes place at the campus. ITL will also provide training to the universities along with onsite support for two years. Banaras Hindu University was the first to accept the project in their 28 kms diameter campus. It will be extended to Nagaland University, H.N.B. Garhwal University and Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan in October. “In our endeavour to bring global technologies to India, we are delighted to get this project and will extend the services to more universities,” said Durga Prasad, CEO, ITL.
Naveen Kumar and Phani Mahesh from Sai Mitra Constructions were declared winners at the national finals of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2017. The 14th edition of this corporate quiz was held for over two months, traversing 25 cities, with four zonal rounds preceding the national finals.
Jayakanthan and Aniruddha Dutta from Tata Consultancy Services were declared the runners-up. A knowledge initiative by the Tata group, Tata Crucible serves as an ideal platform for young minds to showcase their quizzing acumen. This year the quiz witnessed participation from more than 1,300 corporate teams. Apart from the Tata Crucible trophy, the winners were also felicitated with cash prize of Rs 5 lakh.
