Applauding the media for playing a constructive role in the success of his pet project – the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the goal to have a clean India can be achieved sooner than expected.
Addressing senior editors at the ‘Deepawali Mangal Milan Samaroh’ at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the national capital, Modi credited the media for working in “mission mode” to promote the campaign.

“The nation has seen the positive role played by the media in making the Swachh Bharat Mission a success. Be it the print media or electronic media, everyone came together and worked in mission mode.”
“I am grateful to all of you and would like to extend my best wishes to you all,” he added.
However, Modi said that it was just the beginning and there was a lot left to do.
“This is just the beginning, we have a huge task at hand but if we continue to work with enthusiasm, the goal to achieve a clean India will be attained sooner than expected,” he said.
