Anupam Kher talks about airport encounter with Gulzar
Anupam Kher shares a heartfelt moment with Gulzar at the airport, expressing gratitude for the legendary poet’s encouragement and blessings.
Anupam Kher and Shabana Azmi will share personal anecdotes and career highlights during an event at University of New South Wales in Sydney.
The December 3 event is a part of the ‘In conversation Event’ series launched by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television arts (AACTA).
Azmi and Kher, who were recently announced as grand jurors for the inaugural AACTA Award for the Best Asian Film, will also attend the 7th AACTA Awards ceremony on December 7 at The Star Event Centre.

“It’s a great thrill to be returning to Australia to hold my first Australian ‘In Conversation’ event as part of the Australian Academy’s Screen Week Program,” Kher said.
“By sharing some of the experiences and insights I have had throughout my career, I hope to help inspire others and further engage Australian audiences with the Indian film industry. I am very happy they are recognising talents from this side of the world,” he added.
Azmi said the event gave her a chance “to connect with my fans in Australia and to have the opportunity to share my thoughts, learnings and knowledge from my career in the Indian film industry.”
“We are delighted to welcome two of India’s most acclaimed and admired actors, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher, to Sydney this December for AACTA’s ‘In Conversation Event Series’, as well as the 7th AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel,” said AFI – AACTA CEO Damian Trewhella.
“The two intimate events will provide industry and film fans alike with rare behind the scenes insight into the careers and creative workings of these two icons of Indian film.”
Three Indian films Dangal, Kaasav: Turtle and Pink have been nominated along with other Asian films from Korea, Japan, China and Philippines.
