The United manager discussed the various injury issues his squad are dealing with currently.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had a mixture of good and bad news when it came to discussing his side’s injury list in the aftermath of the Red Devils’1-0 win in the UEFA Champions League over Portuguese side Benfica.
Marcus Rashford, who scored a 64th-minute winner, was taken off late in the second-half for what seemed like a cramp but Mourinho revealed the striker complained of pain in his knee.
“With Rashford, I thought it was cramp because he was running so much – I thought it was muscular fatigue. But no, he told me he felt something in his knee. It didn’t look to me like a big thing but we don’t know,” Mourinho told MUTV.

United defender Phil Jones, who suffered a knock recently, was on the bench and Mourinho was confident of him featuring in their next Premier League game against Huddersfield Town but ruled out Eric Bailly from taking part in the clash on Saturday.
“Phil Jones was on the bench because he felt that if we really needed him, he could (play),” the 54-year-old tactician said as he added, “So if he was at that stage today, on Saturday I think he will be in a condition to play. For Eric Bailly, I think it will be difficult.”
United are suffering a crisis in midfield with star player Paul Pogba out with a hamstring injury and his stand-in, Marouane Fellaini has a knee complaint which is keeping him out of action.
And while Mourinho was hopeful that of welcoming as many players as he could, he acknowledged that the he was unsure over the return date of the duo.
“Hopefully some of them (can return at Huddersfield) but I don’t know. I don’t know about Paul (Pobga), I don’t know about (Marouane)Fellaini,” the Red Devils manager admitted.
United, who have won all their matches in Europe to top their group, are second in the Premier League table as they are two points behind leaders Manchester City.
The Red Devils face a tricky trip to Premier League newcomers Huddersfield on Saturday while City entertain Burnley at the same time.
