The reason behind this shift in date has however not been explained by the production company. To free the April 10 slot for one of the most anticipated films of all time, Universal has decided to move the release date of animated movie Trolls 2, to two months ahead. It will now be released in February.
Directed by F. Gary Gray, the movie has been breaking all records in terms of screens, collections and star cast. The eighth installment of the franchisee starred the likes of Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Nathalie Emmanuel, Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel, Scott Eastwood, Elsa Pataky, Charlize Theron and Kurt Russell.
Late actor Paul Walker was also a part of the franchisee until the seventh edition. He passed away in a car crash during the days when the movie was being filmed. However, his role was then played by his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker.
