Bhutan

This happy country is must-visit.  Traveling to this clean and peaceful country is easy. Since Assam and West Bengal shares border with Bhutan, one can fly to Paro or Kolkata or Guwahati whichever is nearer to your place of stay and catch a cab to Thimphu or other places in the country. While there is a direct flight service from Delhi, it is more fun to take the road and drive through the border into Bhutan.  You can also catch a train to New Jalpaiguri and take a cab from there to Phuntsholing.  It will take only four hours. The travel fare, stay and food is cheap.

Bangladesh

Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is a city worth visiting. The unique tradition and culture of this Muslim country is steep in history and life in the capital is a heavy mix of the old and new world. There is a train service and direct flight to Dhaka from Kolkata. One can also take a bus or a cab to Dhaka from Kolkata. It takes about seven hours by car.

Pakistan

If you have to visit Pakistan, take the road for a more enriching experience. Once you are in Amritsar, you can catch private vehicles which take you on a straight road to Attari-Wagah border from where you can cross over to Lahore. Once you cross the border there are taxi services which can take you to Lahore city or other cities in the country. Apart from hotels, there are private lodges, guest houses and home stay which offer you a comfortable and affordable stay.

Sri Lanka

Colombo, being a popular travel destination of beaches, temples and parks, offers a great travel experience. Holiday packages are many to choose from.  There are direct flights to Colombo from Delhi and other cities. And there are buses and train services connecting Colombo to other places of interest in the country.
