The flood situation in Bihar today continued to show signs of improvement with no fresh reports of any casualty from flooded areas of the state.
Water is receding in several places and people are returning to their homes. Around 11,633 people are staying in 35 relief camps, a Disaster Management department release said.
The death toll in this year’s flood stands at 514, the release said.

The number of relief camps functioning in the flood affected areas remained at 35, the release said.
A total of 91,156 people were served cooked food at 164 community kitchens, it said adding that 1.15 lakh people were served cooked food at 243 community kitchens yesterday, the department report said.
As per the department’s release, a a total of Rs 295.53 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of 4,92,557 flood affected families through RTGS till today.
The government is giving Rs 6,000 to each flood affected family through RTGS transfer for food and gratuitous relief, it said.
On Sunday alone, the department transferred the cash amount for food and gratuitous relief into the bank accounts of 1,67,276 flood affected families, the release said.
