Bharti Enterprises’ Rakesh Bharti Mittal has sought permission for setting up the food processing plant in Punjab for its Del Monte brand, at an initial investment of Rs.30 Crore.
At a meeting with Chief Minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday evening, Mittal sought the opportunity to set up the food processing plant at Ladhowal, Ludhiana. He said on completion, another Rs.50 Crore will be invested in the plant. Bharti Enterprises owns and operates Airtel among other companies.

Mittal also offered to take up more schools in Punjab to further boost quality education as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative – the Satya Bharti School programme under which five schools are being run in Punjab.
